A workshop organised by
Slovak Academy of Sciences
Comenius University
Slovak University of Technology
and
Slovak Mathematical Society
The GEMS series was initiated in
1994 by Roman Nedela and Martin Škoviera in Donovaly.
After the second meeting, which took place in
1997 in Banská Bystrica, the series became
a part of a 4-year
cycle of alternating conferences that include SIGMAP the Slovenian Graph Theory conference,
and an event organized in New Zealand. Starting with the third meeting in Bratislava,
the two original organizers were joined by Jozef Širáň. The subsequent conferences were
organized
on the 4-yearly schedule with the exception of 2021:
The 2025 workshop will bring together people interested in various aspects of graphs embedded on surfaces. The
programme will consist of lectures presented by invited speakers and sessions of short contributed talks.
Contributed talks should be related to one or more of the following topics:
- Embeddings of graphs on surfaces
- Orientable and non-orientable maps and hypermaps and their symmetries, regular maps and hypermaps
- Classifications and enumeration of maps and hypermaps
- Polyhedra and related concepts
- Dessins d'enfants
- Colorings of graphs on surfaces
- Algebraic, geometrical and computational methods in topological graph theory
- Applications of Fuchsian and Kleinian groups
- Regular tesselations of surfaces
- Group actions on graphs, maps, and hypermaps
- Representativity and graph minors
- Convex polytopes and polytopal graphs
The deadline for submitting the final registration data and abstracts is May
18, 2025. In case of questions,
please contact us via the conference e-mail.
